Project Description:

The Wheeler Auditorium is the largest lecture hall on the Berkeley campus.  The 101-year-old Wheeler Hall building is recognized at the national, state and local levels as a historic resource.  It is included in the National Register of Historic Places, California Historic Landmark and Berkeley City Landmark.  The project includes new finishes and refurbishment, accessibility improvements, fixed seating replacement, new presentation and audiovisual infrastructure, new curtains/masking and concrete toppings.  The basement, first and second-floor classrooms underwent limited refurbishing for woodwork, plaster, painting, door hardware, flooring, and lighting.  The project duration was compressed between spring and fall break.
